Extreme amounts of fragmented files??

I noticed my computer running slow 3 days ago. I thought maybe I needed to defragment. I had done it last month. I did it and the amount of fragmented files was crazy. It was still running slow so I can the anaylze option on defragmenter. It said I have 27% of free space. That cannot be right. I should have at least 40%. Then I noticed there was even more fragmented files after I ran defragmenter yestday. It is a very large amount. What is going on with my computer? Thank you.

I had the same problem ... I had 10 gb system drive and I had recently installed windows but it was showing that only 2 gb was empty ... I searched for large files and found that there was a logfile of dr watson that was taking 6 gb of space. I deleted it and now its all okay.
