are the files wowexec.exe and opware16.exe a virus

I'm runing xp home on a pIII 450mhz and like a month or so ago when the machine froze and i hit alt+ctrl+dlt i saw these files and friend said they were system files but I have never seen either before I would of deleted them but i was afraid i'd crash my system. thanks

no their not wowexec is windows on windows 16 bit module that will let XP or 2k ( or even 98 i belive) run 16bit programs. opware is a 16bit program and needs wow to run. now what opware is im not really sure

Here's a site to search for files in your RUN/Startup,you suspect to be virus/trojen/spyware .

The programs opware16 and opware32 appear to have been dropped into the startup files by Caere's Omnipage software. I found them running on a 98 box here and identified them by examining the startup files using msconfig
