W2K SP4 Rollup1.
Oops. I was adjusting a user's registry from the Administrator's account, and forgot to Unload the hive before exiting Regedt32.
Now I have "user" and "user.COMPUTER", with nearly identical hives. The problem is that Users and Passwords, and Computer Management>Local Users and Groups>Users can only see one of the pair, and I don't know which one they are looking at.
How can I remove "user.COMPUTER" without compromising the work put into "user"? I guess that simply removing the entry from Documents and Settings could make the mess worse?
