just loaded window 2003 and problems

I had window xp on my computer and I loaded Window 2003
Now when i first boot up my computer I can go to Internet Explorer and it opens ok but if i close it and try to open it again I get the red circle with a slash through and it will not open again unless i shut it down.

My computer is running very slow now.

when i go to open a file it alway open up small

If you can help me with this I will thank you

You didn't attempt to load 2003 over XP, did you? What hardware specs are in your computer?
