Oracle Apache on Windows 2003

Expand Post »
Hi,

I've suddenly started getting some errors reported in my apache error_log on Windows 2003. The apache has been running fine and we've not upgraded it.

I've now getting this in the error_log,

[Wed Nov 11 09:42:28 2009] [crit] (10038)An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket: Parent: WSADuplicateSocket failed for socket 316.
[Wed Nov 11 09:42:28 2009] [error] (2)No such file or directory: master_main: create child process failed. Exiting.

And this in the event viewer,

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Apache Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3299
Date: 11/11/2009
Time: 09:54:40
User: N/A
Computer: VW68REVIWLIVE
Description:
The Apache service named d:\oracle\1.0.2\Apache\Apache\Apache.exe reported the following error:
>>> [Wed Nov 11 09:54:40 2009] [error] (2)The system cannot find the file specified: RegQueryValueEx(key System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Oracleora102HTTPServer\Parameters) <<<
before the error.log file could be opened.
More information may be available in the error.log file.

Has anybody seen anything like it.

Cheers,

P

Re: Oracle Apache on Windows 2003
Hi,
I have no idea what Apache is or what it does but as it runns on Windows 2003 you could try a System File Check.
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
there could be something there causing the error.
If it is possibly, reinstall the program or try updating.

And you call yourself an expert???!!!

Its an opensource web server, indeed, one of the most popular web servers on the internet.

Maybe best moving this to the Web hosting board instead of the windows server one?

P.S Bob, i believe SFC runs at boot on Windows Sever anyway.

Hi,
I have said before and I say again, I am definitely not an expert and I never professed to be. I have only evr had some experience with Linux and I was not able to use that.
I am well versed in the everyday problems faced in XP and I am learning a bit about windows 7 & and Vista.
I do not know if SFC will run at boot but I do know you can run it after the PC is running. As I explained to the poster, "I don't know but here is something you could try". As my signature states, try the simple things first, I leave the complicated and programing problems to the experts. No one had answered this poster, so I gave him some advice to do something that could help.
