Reformating a laptop

Hello, I'm somewhat new with computers and im jsut wondering how i would go about reformating my hp pavillion zv5000 laptop, i have already backed up all my important files and im all ready to reformat i just need to know what to do first and what i need to do it, i have an application recoevery cd, a driver recovery cd, and an OS cd, these all came with my laptop, how would i go about reformating it, any help is greatly appreciated

That is, of course, if the 'OS CD' is actually a Windows CD and not something else. I'd not heard of regular Windows CDs being distributed with HP PCs.
