Advice Please

I have got windows messenger version 4.7.2009.
can you tell me do I need update and how.
my computer is windows xp home.

I think so.When you get connected to msn/windows messenger and if you're running an older version shunned by Microsoft , you should get a message like " A new version of messenger is available,click her to download now yes/no."Click on yes.The things that follow are easy.I can sign-in with windows messenger 5.0 because there's no update fo that one.But if you're using msn messenger,then 6.0/6.1 is a must.That should help you.
