stuck on reboot

I get this message and anything I attempt to do does not work.
The screen stays frozen. I have put the windows disk in but to no avail

The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed.

Attempt to restart again?
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
Continue with system restore.

I was able to correct the problem by plugging in an older keyboard(round purple end) into the computer and was able to select the delete restoration.... option
