installing my ethernet controller

hi
can anyone please help me i have just formated my pc and reinstalled xp without any form of backup (i know not clever!)

now my pc cannot install my Ethernet Controler.

i have little knollage about this sort of problem and have know idea how to overcome this.

my pc was built by HP
ethernet conrtoler location is: PCI bus 5 device 2 function 0

i dont know what info you will need to help so please ask me (i may need help in finding said info)

so thats where you start , http://www.hp.com/#Support and using the model number usually found on the tower somewhere

i think that i have found the correct drivers allredy but what do i do with them now i have them?

sounds like your in over your head .lol
you install then starting with the chipset ,any that have a setup file you just click on that ,ones with no setup file have to be install via the device manager , for that right click on mycomputer go properties ,hardware /device manage any device wit h yellow or red!! or X need to have drivers installed ! o red
