XP overlay-reinstall
With 98 I could run setup and reinstall 98 over itself without losing programs or icons.
If I just wanted to refresh my XP files without losing everything can I do it.?
Sorry to ask such a noob question but I have been spending alot of time in Linux these days.

From experience if you install XP from the desktop, and not from boot, (and obviously this wont allow you to format any drives), it will leave a lot of files untouched. Unfortunately it was a while ago and i can't remember which files, or whether their locations were changed or not.
Perhaps some one could confirm.
