HOW DID YOU FIX IT? I HAD SAME PROBLEM AND MISLOCATED MY XP CD... PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.
THANKS
Generally, you could replace corrupt system files. However, you need the installation CD. If you don't have it, try system restore...

Heck, fiddling with the OS is the best way to learn. I remember when I got my first PC(A state of the art Celeron @ 333MHz, 2.1Gig, 32 MB, PCI VGA, ISA sound card). I fiddled with it so much that I had to reinstall Windows 98 6 times within the span of one month. I was like "Hmm. The computer says modifying/deleting the contents of the Windows folder may cause the machine to stop working. Let's see what happens." So, I just deleted the contents of the Windows folder. Hi zanjie.
First of all- welcome to Daniweb :).
We ask that members not piggy-back questions on to a thread previously started by another member here in the Viruses, Spyware & other Nasties forum, (regardless of how similar your problem might seem). Not only does it divert the focus of the thread away from the original poster's problem, but it also makes it less likely that you yourself will get the individual attention that you need.
Please start your own thread and post your question there. When you do, please try to give us as much specific info as possible regarding the problem (exact error messages, system specs, etc.).
For a full description of our posting guidelines and general rules of conduct, please see this page:

Thanks for understanding.
