My XP MicroSoft-generic ScreenSaver starts OK - but -
after a couple of minutes
it reverts back to a normal screen.

This has been the case since I re-installed XP-Pro.

I want ScreenSaver to stay activated until
I decide to use the computer again

Jump to PostBe sure you have the latest drivers for your mouse.
Make sure no light source is interfering with optical mouse.
Disable "Wake on LAN" in the BIOS.

My "awake on Lan" has never been on - but -
I will check it on the next boot.

My wired TrakBall may or may not have a most current driver -
I am going to check on it..
