Windows XP installation error .sif file

Expand Post »
Hello,

I just baught a new computer and I emptied all that was in my previous computer HD using an external drive. I then proceeded to format my HD in the intent on doing a clean installation of Windows XP on my old machine and give it to a freind who needs a tipewriter.

In the middle of my reinstall of Win XP (using the 3.5" floppy and the installation CD) I get a message right after the formatting of the hard drive that the .sif file is unavailible (or empty) and then the installation exits and I am not able to reboot the computer even using the 3.5" floppy.

Can someone tell me what I can do with this???

Thanks
