Creating an infared connection to a mobile phone

I've got an acer laptop with an infrared connection, i want to connect my phone to the laptop, i've installed nokia PC suite and all the drivers (my phone is a nokia 7600), i've tried setting up a wireless network but my phone and my computer just aren't connecting.. help!
