Monitor flickering white lines??

Expand Post »
Hey guys, first post . Ok I've got a serious problem, last night my monitor started to flicker, white lines f varying width would flicker across the screen and the entire screen would go white for up to 10 secs.

I have an LCD monitor which is about 5 years old, its a samtron 51s,

I have tried changing the refresh rate but this does not work. IT even occurs as the computer is botting up and also occurs in safe mode.

Is ita problem with the monitor itself and am I going to have to get a new one?

Thanks

Re: Monitor flickering white lines??

Sounds like your monitor's dead/dying. I've had 3 of those monitors. One would do that, even in the BIOS. So, you're looking at replacing a monitor.
