Over-writing WinXP Pro with new installation?

Expand Post »
Hi all,

This is probably just me being dozy, but hopefully someone can help.
I've had loads of problems with my copy of Windows XP Pro (eg the system crashing when I try to access the properties of my LAN!), mostly involving it crashing, so I've decided to try and re-install the system. However when I tried that it decided to install it on my second hard drive rather than allowing me to over-write the original installation!
After a bit of hassle I appear to have removed the second copy of Windows from my second hard drive, however I am still stuck with the original problem - it keeps crashing because it's not over-written the original!
Anybody got any ideas on how to solve this?

cheers,
Jon
