CRC error when copying MP3 from Cd

Expand Post »
Hello all,

I recently reformatted my computer and installed XP in place of 2000. In order to save my library of music, I burned the mp3s to CDs, and now when trying to save tehm from teh cd to the computer again, I'm getting a cyclic redundancy check error on SOME of the songs. Any ideas why or how to fix this?

I have a Pent 4, 120 GB harddrive, 512 RAM, etc etc.

Thanks in advance.

Re: CRC error when copying MP3 from Cd

Most likely, you can't fix them. CRC errors usually mean that the source files (in your case, some of the MP3s you burned to CDs) are corrupted.

Did you do a verify operation on the CDs after the burns? If so, that probably would have told you at the time that some of files didn't transfer/burn correctly.
