Start Menu will not right click

After a necessary re-install of Windows XP Home, I cannot get the right-click menu to open items in the Start Menu. Mostly I just want to be able to alphabetize the menu, but it is also handy for creating desk-top shortcuts.

Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks, J, but that doesn't work for me, even though I joined the ex exchange for 10 bucks to find out! ;-)

lifesart,

Sorry about that. I didn't think you would have to pay. The solution I found was provided in one of the forum posts in the link I sent you. As far as a solution, try this:

Start >> Run >> type: cmd >> type: sfc /scannow

This command will replace any corrupt or missing Windows system files. Please run Windows Update after running the above utility.
