Network file copy

Hi,

I have a network with 3 Xp machines. PC1, PC2 and PC3.

Copying and pasting a 600MB file from PC2 to PC3 takes 5 minutes but copying the same file from PC1 to either of the other PCs takes 75+- minutes and vice versa.

Anyone know what could cause this?

Check the speed of your network cards. I am willing to bet that PC1 has a 10MB card in it.

Thanks fop the reply.

Its been fixed. There was a trace of Kaspersky left on the machine that was interferring. Since it was removed file copying is faster. Cheers
