My computer wont start up! PLEASE HELP!!

Expand Post »
I tried to restart my computer. It will go to the welcome to windows xp screen, then it sounds like the hard drive just stops running. I have even tried to boot up in safe mode. Still does the same thing. I also tried to go to system recovery option. It wants a admistrator password, but when i typed it in , said it was not correct ? I do not have any recovery cds. I did try to put a cd in just to see if it would load it. It would not even do that. Can anyone help me ?

Sounds like you might have a bad piece of hardware. Unplug, disconnecting non-essentials (CD-ROM drives, sound card if not integrated, etc.), replug, and reboot. If you can get ahold of a video card, try swapping that, too.
