My Computer sound

My computer quiet often looses its sound compleatly I can't listen to music or radio or anything.I have a windows XP desktop computer.Do you know how to fix it please .

Please provide more details. When you say it loses sound, do you mean it has sound when you start up and then it goes away? If so, what do you do to get it back? Is there a certain thing you're doing when you lose sound?
