New computer - want to load old software

Bought a new Dell D820 (very happy so far) to replace an old piece of junk Compaq Presario 2500.

What is the easiest way to copy all software (MS Office plus about a dozen other purchased SW products)? I know how to move standard data files from one computer to the other, but not sure about the licensed stuff. Is the only way to re-load from CD's and go back to websites I purchased original software?

Thanks,

JohnF

Although it was possible in the DOS and Windows 3.x days, you can't simply move/copy programs from one computer to another anymore; program installation routines are much more complex these days. You will need to install the programs using their original installation media.
