Automatic Update try install update twice

Hello all:

I have XP Home and the Automatic Update wants to update "Update for Windows XP (KB898461)" again. I already have this installed and I keep getting the balloon trying to install it again. Would appreciate any help with this. Don't want to uninstall this update as it will mess up too many other programs.:sad:

This happens with various updates, and it happens for various reasons. You'll probably have to uninstall and then reinstall the package, although sometimes just installing it again on top of the already-installed verison clears things up. A full, fresh reinstall may require a Registry edit; info on the process can be found here:
