The window does not run..

I got this computer from www.ubid.com 2 months ago. It was a used comp, HP pavilion a1123c. The problem is when i turn the power on, it stucks on the first HP blue welcoming page, with recorvery and stuffs, and it freezes there. so i have to switch the red thing in the back to make it restart and run. im thinkin if the processor wasnt connect correctly so it doesnt keep goin. so do any of u guys know wuts the actual problem with this thing? plz private message me asap.

so i have to switch the red thing in the back to make it restart and run.

the red thing ???
and it restarted and now runs or does it still not run[run usually means it loaded windows and works ]
