Local Security Policy settings not saved on Server

Expand Post »
I have a problem with a Windows 2003 server that I have. We run a an application directly from the server which has worked great until yesterday, when we get a logon failure.

What seems to be happening, is that in Local Security Settings -> User Rights Assignement, the setting for "Access this computer from the network" has been cleared. I have tried to re-add groups like "everyone, authenticated users", but within 2 minutes, these permissions have been cleared off and no-one can access the system?

We are working on a workgroup (not domain) and the server is in the same workgroup as the rest of the PCs.

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
