Hi,

Urgently help required.

I am working on Windows 2000 network as a Adminstrator. As we don;t have any
option like "Maximum Password length" (Under the Security Settings->Account
Policies->Password Policy.

I got to know that to achieve the goal of adding the Maximum Password Length
attribute, we have to make some changes on Schema Master (Root). A person/u
ser must have an access to Schema Master and should be the member of Schema
Admins Group.

I have this .xml coding with me and want to add to schema. I am confused whe
re i have to go and write this coding and what interface i have to use and w
here i have to write this code in windows 2000 Root DC in Forest (Schema Mas
ter Role).

Hoped to get positive replies from all.

Start
Run
gpedit.msc
Go to Local Computer Policy
Computer Configuration
Windows Settings
Security Settings
Account Policies
Password Policy

In there you will find your option if you know this and need help in writing a script in .xml that isn't me.

I am looking the option Maximum Password Length...? Try to scroll once again in ur policy -> account policies settings

As i already know all this and working as a sys admin from the last 6 years...nothng new for me wht u have sent to me..... a snap shot of GPO/LPO

Listen, i want to add a another attribute like Minimum Password Length.....named Maximum Password Length.

Hoped now its all clear to you if not get in touch with me freely :p

If you knw, how i can achieve this then plz reply otherwise not.

Ok I see what your saying. I am at work right now remotely connected home I need to come home and take a look at this. Now have you used the Win2kPro/Server resource kit?

I saw your xml script is this for a company yes what is keeping you from a programming making you a script for 'Maximum Password Length' work with me here I am still in the air lets do this buddy now you gave me a job to do.

One more thing on the Win2kServer Active Directory server do a search in the reg for Minimum Password Length see what you get. I will do some research tonight.
