true modems

who makes 100% full hardware modems anymore? this is a question because i run into many win modems, and even a few that say full hardware yet in the instructions say controllerless.
full harware modems ussaly can take just a basic driver, 56k v.90 if thats what it is, regardless of who made it
Though i no longer use a modem this was always a problem. having to find a certian driver out of a whole mess.

Any external, serial port modem will have a controller, like for example Hayes.
