boot safe mode OK, boot normal no good

Expand Post »
Hi guys & gals:
My son's PC has XP on it. It boots OK in Safe mode with networking (that's how I got here), but stays at the splash screen in Normal boot mode.

Defragged, McAfee is on board, no Spyware protection I can see (hthough I'm goin gto load up the free Comcast anti=spyware toolbar now.)

Any idea? I am reluctant to do a restore.

Thanks:rolleyes:

So do a partial restore. In any case, if you don't like the changes restore makes you can then go back to its previous state.
