No Sound Window NT Help?!!

Expand Post »
I just installed windows 2000 nt professional on an ECS motherboard running an amd 2400. Everything is fine excep i have no sound. I can play music directly from my cd player, but when running sounds from my hard drive, i hear nothing and at times get errors from playes like windows media player.

I have an realtek ac 97 audio for via controller installed as a driver, and there doesnt seem to be any conflict with hardware devices. I have also checked to see if volume was on mute, but the are all on full blase.

I know i have sound, and that the speakers are working. I have no clue on what to do. can someone help me??
