Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up Task Manager....

Guys

A strange thing happening to a friend's PC; when press Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up Task Manager instead of the security box. I have failed to figure it out; checked the drivers, the individual keyboard tabs etc Even checked to see if some managment /configuration tool was installed but none. Any ideas? The machine is a Dell Latitude D505, English Keyboard with XP running.

If the welcome screen is on it brings up the task manager. if you use the classic login then you get the security box.

The task manager is the default bahaviour for xp home (it cant join domains)

When you press ctrl-alt-delete is it performed by all 3 keys at one time or what. This is one of the things so nebulous and incomplete about computer instructions for the uninitiated?
