Passwords

I am thinking about password protecting my laptop. A few questions. I am the administrator of my laptop. How do I set up the password. And after I set it up can I remove it so I don't need to type in a password at all. How would I do that. Thanks, sorry if these seem like simple minded questions. I've never had to use a password for computer protection so it is new to me.

Hi Leo, no worries mate that's a frequently asked question. If you are using windows XP, Start > Control Panel > users > accounts > add / change password (then remove password once you wish to remove it)

windows vista, Start > Control Panel > User Accounts And Family Safety > User Accounts > Add Windows Password.

And yes mate you can remove it once it's no longer required.

Hope this helps,

Dazza
