converting BMPs to AVI

Hello,
Does anybody have a piece of code to convert sequence of bitmaps into video(avi) without using directx sdk?
I am looking for a pure win32 API solution so I will be able to translate it to the programming language I use(After GRasp)

Any help is highly appreciated.
