Login problems after powerfail

Expand Post »
Hi,

A bad storm ran through here last night and now I've got PC problems. Power was out for about 4 hours. I find that I can start my PC (Wiondows XP SP2) and enter the password for the ower. That's where it stops or hangs or whatever you want to call it. I have repeated this process several times. On two occasions I got past this point but could not get a full load of the desktop, start menu or tool bar.

I can boot in safe mode. I get the desk top there with start menu and tool bar. I can assess msconfig and other start up services but I don't know what to do from there.

Any thoughts? What to try next?

Thanks,

Greg
