ODBC Source error 1919

Hi everyone:

I have MicroSoft Word 2000 and has this error:

"Error 1919 configuring ODBC data source: MS Access Database ODBC error 6 component not found in the registry, verify the file MS Access Data base exist and that you can access it".

I uninstalled it and it won't let me put it back. Upon doing a little research I found out that Microsoft.com lists practically all of its 2000 software as having ODBC 1919 errors (Excel 2000, Word 2000 etc) so am I stuck or can this be fixed? I don't understand the steps they give and I don't want to mess up my machine. Can anybody give me a breakdown that I can follow? This is the page where the fix is listed:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324628 .

I appreciate your help, thank you so much.:'(
