Buffer overrun

Expand Post »
I am new to the forum but I still need some advice. I am somewhat OK with PC but certainly not a programmer or analyst. Problem error message on screen:
Microsoft visual C++ runtime library (in title bar)
buffer overrun detected!
Program: C:\windows\explorer.exe
buffer overrun detected which has corrupted program's internal state.

Re: Buffer overrun

Close IE and restart, scan your PC for virus, spyware, install a firewall software like zonealarm.

Re: Buffer overrun

You'll no doubt be encouraged if more than one response gives the same advice.

The AVG anti-spyware clears this up (if trojan it be) but it'd be as well to run SpyBot as well to double check. Not all trojans disappear on first pass in which case no doubt you'll be back to the forum.
