Windows New Menu

You know - the New Menu - that comes up when you right-click in a folder or on the desktop (the one that lets you add a shortcut, text files etc) - how do you add items to this menu ..

That would require hacking the registry, which is not a good idea if you're a novice.

This can be done via TweakUI, one of Microsoft's free PowerToysXP that you can download from www.microsoft.com

Once you install it, go to where it says "Document Templates" :) There, you can create or delete existing "templates" for new items for your desktop.
