NTLDR is missing

Hi guys,
I'm new on here and badly need help. I have a Sony Vaio PCG-TR5MP which I've just installed a new hard drive into.

The problem is that it won't boot from my XP pro installation CD, saying that the NTLDR is missing.

Anyone out there help??

Thanks in advance,
Polmcf.

See here for several possible solutions:

I suspect you're not actually booting from the CD, or the CD is damaged.
