exchange with mac mail

i am trying to setup mac mail to work with exchange. i am able to recieve but not send. does anyone know the correct smtp settings for an exchange server?

mac 10.4

it depends how you have exchange set up.

exchange is also a bit buggy with anything other than outlook with regards to non-mail stuff like addressbooks and calender.

Sounds like you need to ask your sysadmin for what the SMTP settings are. Generally for exchange you need to enable authentication using your (domain) username and password

i am the admin. i just cant figure out which setting to use cause none of the diffrent authentications work.
