MSN Messenger - Remote Assistance not working

Expand Post »
I used to be able to access my Mom's computer via MSN Messenger Remote Assistance, but it doesn't work anymore. I get the following error:

'Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote host name could not be resolved. Please try again.'

Any ideas on how to fix this? She lives in Canada... I live in California...... It'd be ALOT easier to help her using Remote Assistance instead of trying to figure out what she see's over the phone! Thanks!

Re: MSN Messenger - Remote Assistance not working

Are there any firewalls installed?

Check this link out. Perhaps their solution will work for you.

Re: MSN Messenger - Remote Assistance not working

make sure the remote assistance service is running and not disabled
go to start then click run and type this services.msc and make sure remote desktop help session manager is set to automatic

Also right click on My Computer go to properties then click the remote tab and check Allow Remote assistance...
