Re: Making IExplore extremely fast

This is a handy little trick you can use with Internet Explorer 6 to make it boot up extremely fast
Make a shortcut of iexplore on your desktop ... right-click on the shortcut to Internet Explorer and add the parameter '-nohome' to the end of the command line, like so:

Target: Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome
I tried and it will not let me change the target line to the above

Re: Making IExplore extremely fast

lol people people. This little trick will do the Following and give the following problems:

It will Make about:blank the webpage you see when you goto IExplorer though the link

It will make MSN.com or w/e your homepage is, that much more time consuming to get to becuase it will haft to load anyways.

It will sometimes confuse IExplorer in changing some of its Inner config, therefor your Screwed. It will then show nothing BUT about:blank.

I have tested this on my friends *Test PC*

Re: Making IExplore extremely fast

Caperjack. If you're on Broadband, try this;

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar of Firefox and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
