Presently reading about WIM Imaging. There ismuch material available on the steps but nowhere can I find what exactly happens during image mounting/unmounting. Microsoft Technet does not clearly explain why mounting is necessary and what happens to the image during the steps of the mounting process. guidance sought

, hi , I think they assume you already know why you would be mounting the image , having said that i have no idea what it does when mounting ,that is except install windows on a specified computer i assume you are in IT training or working in IT ,don't think the average user would need such info .
