no, you can't get it free. You can get OpenOffice for free, the files are compatible with Microsoft Office.

Microsoft's productivity suite is not free. They do have free viewers which will allow you to open and read files like Word, Excel, Viso, etc.

There's only a 60 day trial for Microsoft Office. There's also LibreOffice.
