Desktop Icons Invaders

I tried to open a file of mine but it won't open cause nothing happens so i tried to go to "Open with" and i accidentally clicked the "Adobe Reader" then it says that it can't open that file because it's not supported with it,last thing i know when i closed that window all my desktop shortcut icons are all in Adobe Reader icon and everytime i open my shortcuts like Google Chrome it won't,so i tried to go to "Open with" again and clicked internet explorer all my icons changed to it..., what's wrong? Help,

hi, when you right click and choose open with ,make sure to uncheck box that says "always open with "something like that anyway.what type of file was the one you are trying to open ?
