Vista BlueScreen

I am getting the BlueScreen at some times while I'm on the computer. The error message is as follows:
"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

A wait operation, attach process, or yield was attempted from a DPC routine.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask you hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x000000B8 (0x89A21170, 0x847559D8, 0x89A0E000, 0x00000000)

Collecting data for crash dump...
Initializing disk for crash dump...
Beginning dump of physical memory.
Dumping physical memory to disk: 100

Now this is a brand new computer of only 3 weeks. I don't have any newly installed hardware on my computer either. This has been happening for a couple days now and I want to get it solved. Anybody know how to solve this?

Well my computer still runs. I can still do everything on it, but every once in a while when I'm in the middle of something it gives me this BlueScreen and it's really pissing me off.:@

Well from the source which i use it gives me this:
"These are generally hardware issues (which often means driver issues). The articles given below are provided more as examples of the types of situations that trigger this error, rather than concrete solutions. As a rule, be sure you have the latest Service Pack edition of your Windows operating system and are using the best device drivers and software versions. After that, do normal hardware troubleshooting for the device implicated."
have you installed any new hardware recently into your computer, such as graphics cards, hard-drives, USB devices etc. ?
If so check that you have the latest drivers for all the hardware you have. I don't know the process through Vista, but it may be similar to XP, where you go into Control Panel and look for System and then inside system there should be a tab called Hardware, then click onto Device Manager. This is the XP route to find what is needed to be found, in Vista it may be slightly different. Once you have found Device Manager double click onto each of the devices, and click onto the "Driver" tab, then click onto the "Update Driver" button. It will then tell you if you have the most up to date driver for that piece of Hardware.
I hope that helps!

Well all my devices were fully updated so that can't be the problem. Anyone else have any ideas?

Have you installed any new hardware recently?
Such as a Printer, a USB device and the like?

I've installed a printer the day I got the computer (about 3 weeks ago) but I just started seeing the BlueScreen about a week ago.

Do you have the printer connected through a USB cable or through a wireless router (if you have a wireless network)?
Does the BSOD always appear when you have the printer plugged in? If yes then try the computer without the printer plugged in and see if it still BSOD's then the problem may be with the drivers to the printer. To try and avert the problem uninstall the drivers for the printer, reboot the computer and reinstall them.
Otherwise this could be due to a virus/spyware attack. What Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware do you run?

My printer is hooked up through USB cable and it is always plugged in. I have AVG Free Edition installed that moniters my computer, and I have Spy-Bot with the immunization. I also have Ad-Aware Free Edition.

I would run an AVG scan and the Ad-Aware scan just in case something has got through. You could try a hijack this log. That would certainly find the root of the problem. I myself don't understand them but i can get someone to come over and have a look over it.
I believe that this is the most up-to-date version to my knowledge:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5554.html
Download it run it, post the log here, and i shall get someone to have a look over it for ya.

Sometimes the computer is just sitting there and it blue screens. Windows Defender is running I'm pretty sure. It has an onboard card, and it has 3GB of RAM

Sometimes my vista doesn't find the updates for all my drivers and I have to go to the manufacturer's site of the installed items (graphic cards, sound cards, etc). I keep autoupdate on for microsoft also and recommend it. Oh you have x64 bit version of vista, don't you? I'm not familiar with that one. Have you tried running scan disk at bootup? You'll have to set it in windows and when you boot next time it'll run. I'll bet you it's a driver or one of those softwares though.. Maybe you can trouble shoot them by disabling some of them for a bit. (I'd probably get off line to do that for safety reasons).

You sound like a great person, hope this gets going for ya.

you might be having a conflick with windows defender and avg, uninstall/disable one and see what happen, also i would try and shutdown some of those startup programs, you have way too much starting up with windows, and most not needed.

But would a conflict between the 2 virus programs really be causing the Blue Screen of Death?

yes it can, it is recommended that you dont run both at the same time especially if they are going to start with windows. uninstall one and see what happens
