Re: Can't open control panel

I suggest using a maintenane program like tune up utilities or system mechanic and running a full check. They have trial downloads and are pretty good at finding and solving problems. Ive been running tune utilities one-click maintenance evert day for two years on my desktop and havent had one problem. And this is from a guy who installs and removes at least two progams a day and im always tweaking windows and changing settings. Worth a try

Re: Can't open control panel

Considering all those missing files, i'd recommend the reload.

P.S. Hijack This logs should be posted in Viruses and Spyware forum

Re: Can't open control panel

im sorry if i did'nt or dont comment on hijackthis logs, I dont really pay much attention to them because ive never had to use it. Although apparently it can be pretty useful if the right people see it.

A reinstall is always good but dont forget to back up those files.

I have had to reinstall windows too many times to count, sometimes losing data, sometimes just to clean up. I learned that using a system backup program can really come in handy. I havent had much luck with system restore but advanced system optimizer has a great back up restore utility.
