windows media player vista not synchronized

This problem has been bothering me for awhile now. Everytime i play avi files at my windows media player, there will be some point where the audio will not be synchronized with the video. This happens for like a couple of minutes then goes back to normal then happens again.

Can anyone pls help me with this problem? Do i need to download a certain codec?

Gennerally the Divx codec is the best one for avi's. If the divx codec for media player doesn't work, try it in the divx player.
