Start menu gone

Expand Post »
Hey so i upgraded from beta to win7 rc, and my start icons are gone...
i checked under {homedir}\start meu and it appears as a link that cant be found... is there any way to restore my start menu?
the all users folder appears as the same..
i have my documents and other folders mapped to somewhere else, i never changed start menu though.
i ran the update about 3 days ago (using the beta hack to allow upgrades) and i cant go back to before that...
is there anything i can use to restore my menu or rebuild it?

Re: Start menu gone

Microsoft states in their installation instructions that you must do a 'clean' install of the release candidate if you've already installed the beta.

Have you tried trashing the folder and then doing a repair?
