Speed of XP & Vista on Network WIRED

Expand Post »
In a prior message I wrote about my Vista being slow! ., I have 2 computers on a WIRED network...The XP one now is being serviced, VISTA seems a decent amount faster...

Is it true that with 2 computers on the same network that Vista could have previously acted very slow? Can I do anything to improve this once I get back the XP?

Re: Speed of XP & Vista on Network WIRED
In what way was it "slow"?

Was it slow when surfing the web?
Was it slow when running programs locally?

did you have any shares "mapped" to the XP machine that is now gone.

If the Vista machine had to keep "mapped" drives up to date over a network, it would appear slower.
