Failure in detecting Usb harddisk

Hi all,

I recently configure my hard disk to a bootable usb hard disk that runs linux.
However, my windows is not able to detect my hard disk anymore but
when i plug in to my laptop i am still able to boot up to linux through this
hard disk.
Please help me and give me advice on this.

Thanks lots.

Yes,i did try and it was able to boot up to the linux system that i wanted.
But now my hard disk is not being detected by windows?
Any idea why? However, my hard disk is being shown out in the disk drive
under the device manager.

You might need to press a special key (in my case F8) in order to boot from the USB disk while the machine starts up. That is what I do in order to boot my Linux drive. Once in Linux you can move GRUB start up files to the other HDD.
