msdn subscriptions are not free, they can range from 700.00 to ten thousand dollars!!!

yes thats why you get the good stuff - i mean, a full copy of server 2003 is worth $700+ and you can also get access to vista ultimate (again, about $700) , and visual studio enterpeise (about $1500)
